3 Cautions Swimming with Dogs -





      Just like raising our children We can't put our pets in plastic bubbles. This world is filled with dangers at every corner. Even still we want to have happy & healthy lives and we want the same for our pets. So if your anything like me there is no shortage of fun things to do in the summertime. But taking precautions is always first and foremost If your dog is like most he/she is probably an avid, excellent swimmer regardless of their size. Most dogs love to swim in any water. The tub, pools, ocean, lake and of course a large muddy puddle. However, it is necessary to be vigilant of any dangers while engaging in fun activities to avoid unnecessary mishaps 

1. Ocean/Salt Water: Water Toxicity, Or Acute Water Intoxication while uncommon, is dangerous and often fatal. With excessive water intake the blood sodium level drops. This allows water to enter the brain and cause brain swelling. It also raises blood pressure which over time could be fatal to major organs such as heart and kidneys,
